The Mumm Champagne Tasting

Try one of the great Champagnes Mumm De Cramant Lightness of touch and finesse in champagne form. This rare cuvée, made since 1882 exclusively with Chardonnay grapes from the Cramant terroir, has been available for sale only since 1960. Before then, it was reserved for the directors and friends of the House. The label, folded over in one corner, recalls the practice formerly used with visiting cards of folding the corners to show they were delivered in person. Mumm de Cramant was likewise hand-delivered to the recipient. The chef de caves chose not declare vintages for this cuvée, even though it’s the product of wines from a single year to ensure maximum freshness and delicacy. While foregoing the opportunity to put a vintage on the label, the House nonetheless gains a highly distinctive wine without equivalent in the marketplace. This exceptional cuvée can only be found in specialist outlets and the very best restaurants. Listed in Neil beckett's book "1001 WINES TO TRY BEFORE YOU DIE"
