Happy New Year!
Thank you for being a valued customer of Hemingway Fine Wines in 2009 and for all the years past. We have greatly appreciated your support during the past decade - now we are in our 10th Year - and so all of us here at Hemingway would like to take this opportunity to wish you the very best of everything for the year of 2010 and the new decade it heralds.
The last year or so has challenged many people for lots of reasons, all of which has been well documented in the media under the banner of "recession." But now we look onwards and upwards with a renewed vigor and enthusiasm for a great new start to a decade of better times and better wines (and less parking fines). So, I raise my flute to you, and say
'A VOTRE SANTE!'
Have a great celebration to bring-in the New Year and Decade.
May we suggest that you indulge in the celebrations with one of the wines below which will not only elevate your spirit to a 'celebratory peak' but give you that warm feeling and nostalgic glow wherever you are. - Best wishes, Brian de Lore

Bouvet Brut NV
We've always said this is the best non-champagne French bubby we have stocked and nothing has changed with this oustanding fizz from The Loire Valley. Crisp and clean, blended from mainly Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay. Still fabulous value even if it has risen about three dollars over the past year. The point is, I sometimes think that if this was made in Champagne it would be double the asking price.
RRP is $31.50, but our special price to you this New Year is $28.30/btl

Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial NV
Made into Kir Royale by mixing with Torlesse Cassis Liqueur (18% Alc/Vol) in the proportions of about one part cassis to six parts champagne, it transforms into one of the most delightful celebration aperitifs you would ever imagine. This is one of the great drinks of France and would be perfect to bring-in the New Year by. The effect of this blend is that the berry fruit characters of the champagne are enlivened on the palate. We stock both.
RRP for Moet is $86/btl but our special price is $64.90/btl

Cecchi Chianti 2008
A lifted nose, rich and vinous, of savoury spice, tomato leaf and hints of violets. The wine is characterized by an intense, ruby red color, which tends towards granite with ageing. On the palate, it is harmonized by a dry, full flavor that is so typical of Sangiovese in a good year in Chianti. A wonderful wine when you are just relaxing with a light red or eating Italian. Perfect with the red sauces of Italy and pasta.
RRP is $21.90. Your special New Year Price only $19.50/btl

Discovery Point Judd Vineyard Gisborne Chardonnay 2008
Little known label in the world of Chardonnay this wine is a stunning example of quality in NZ for under $30. The wine itself has richness with toasty notes on the bouquet and hints of tinned peaches. On the palate the wine is complex but leaner than the nose suggests with lovely balanced acidity and a dry, minerally finish. A nice one to match with shellfish.
RRP is $29.90/btl. Our special price only $26.50/btl
