Mt Difficulty Pinot Noir 2008 - save 22%
Mt Difficulty consistently make excellent Central Otago pinot noir and as a consequence they have carved out one of the best reputations among the big C.O. producers. However, the price has been creeping up with every vintage and the RRP is now $45.90. But what if I said why don't we just slash the price by $10/btl for this week only and offer it for a super low price of just $35.90. That would make it some bargain.
$10 off - only $35.90/btl this week only

Marques de Caceres Crianza Rioja 2005
When Rioja is this good for this price it makes you take notice. Not only was 2005 a really top vintage but this wine has a silky-smooth, velevety texture that develops in your mouth with characters of cherries, strawberries and raspberries and the finish is long and fine-tannined with hints of cinnamon and vanilla. We have cheaper Spanish wines but none offer better value-for-money than this stunner.
RRP is a low $32.90/btl. You will pay only $28.90/btl

Loan Goat Canterbury Riesling 2007
Sure, we have mentioned this wine before but it's such a good buy we are going to remind you about it. Loan Goat are doing a great job with all their wines and this riesling is a beaut! Lone Goat is the old Giesen site at Burnham and the grapes used for this wine are from 25-year-old vines. The nose and palate are dominated by complex citrus characters with lime notes that develop in the mouth; the mineral acidity, balance and long clean finish belie the 15gms of residual sugar.
RRP $21.50/bottle. Our special low price is $18.90/bottle

The world's hottest chilli
As photographed in the shop last week, a bowl of Naga Jolokia chillis - this chilli type has been tested at over 1,001,300 Scoville Heat Units which is more than twice the heat of a Red Savina Habanero chilli. To eat a raw Naga would likely result in hospitalisation so we are not recommending a wine to match - only a fire extinguisher on hand for anyone game enough.
To put the heat of this chilli in perspective, a Jalapeno chillli rates at about 10,000 Scoville heat units which makes the Naga 100 times hotter.
