We tasted the Konrad wines of Marlborough last week at our 'Friday Event' and the biggest hit was their Sigrun Noble Two 2008 dessert wine made from both riesling and sauvignon blanc. We sold out but we have more in stock now. It's such a good buy at the price and went well with The Cheesemongers very creamy 'Windsor Blue' which isn't as strong as Stilton. All the wines of Konrad were very well received - the quality's very good.
This week we have Sandihurst Wines in shop from 2pm. We will be tasting them again with a variety of good cheeses, so come along and have a taste. Breads of Europe will also have their excellent quality products here for sale. Hope to see you here.

One of the best deals ever on Sauvignon Blanc
Konrad Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Restrained, style of Marlborough savvy with deliberate avoidance of greenness but showing a range of aromas. The nose is lime and grapefruit citrus characters lifting the ripe gooseberry and tropical fruit notes. Complexity is enhanced by subtle flinty notes from a small portion of barrel fermentation. On the palate there is a linear range of flavours with citrus notes, through classic gooseberry and passionfruit, to more exotic tropical elements. The structure, long, clean and persistent - the barrel fermentation adds texture to the palate with subtle smoky notes and brings the wine to a dry finish. Stunning value-for-money.
Five Years ago was $22/btl. Now, as a better wine, only $13.90/btl

Veuve Clicquot NV Gift Box with Flutes
Light golden colour with persistent bead and a very fine mousse. Aromas of lifted spice and fig with honey and floral notes are immediately evident. Secondary biscuity aromas, whisps of honeysuckle and enchanting hints of candied peel, angelica and dried apricot. The front and middle palate is round and creamy, the flavours are complex and discernible. Mouthfilling expressions of bakery and croissants, peach and pear flans, almond and citrus. The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes are harvested and pressed to techniques very similiar to parent company Moët et Chandon. The batches are vinified separately to maintain purity.
Was $135/box, now on special for just $99/box

Konrad Sigrun Noble Two 2008
One of the best dessert wines of NZ. Full straw gold colour, with subtle green hues. Complex aromas of pineapple, guava, apricot and lychee are complemented by subtle toffee notes from barrel fermentation. The palate is similarly layered with stone and tropical fruit initially, then building through the palate to reveal complex mineral characters reminiscent of flint and quartz. Toasty oak characters underlie the palate adding structure and dimension to a long, persistent finish perfectly balanced with fine acidity. You haven't had a dessert wine until you've tried it.
RRP $27.50/btl. Our special price only $22.50/btl - save 20%

Jean-Luc Colombo 'Les Abeilles' Cotes du Rhone 2007
We've mentioned this wine before but it's worth mentioning again! From ancient terraced vineyards comprised of gravel on a bed of sandy clay in the area of Cairanne and Gigondas in the southern Rhône Valley. Colour: Intense purple. Bouquet: Red fruit, leather and spice. Taste: Complex, with flavors of licorice and spice and silky tannins. A food-friendly wine which will perfectly match grilled lamb, pork and assorted cheeses. 50% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre from 25-year-old vines. This is a very harmonious wine with wonderful balance and length. You won't be disappointed at this price.
RRP is $24.90/btl. Our special price to you is only $40.90/btl
